The blower takes the smoke from the roaster and/or cooling tray and with the airflow generated from the blower shoots the smoke high enough in the atmosphere to disperse the smoke meeting the 20% opacity requirements of most local municipalities.
Dilution:
Dilution of smoke typically refers to the removal of smoke from non-fire space and maintain levels of gas or particulates within the non-fire spaces. As implied by the name, this method relies on the provision of make up air to dilute the smoke or combustion gases that infiltrate a non-fire space as the air from that space is exhausted out the building.
Smoke Management:
A term used to describe the method used to passively or actively control the movement of smoke within the built environment in the interest of providing a safe roasting and outside area.
Mega Air Intense Dilution System ( MAID System)
This system is for people that do not need an afterburner and do not need to meet specifications by their local AQMD (Air Quality Management Department) that would just like to not have the smoke from the roaster lay in a cloud over their building or parking lot after each roast either because of neighbors complaints or just aesthetic reasons.
The MAID System uses a blower to push smoke that is created by the roaster high enough into the atmosphere that it is dispersed at an altitude that reduces the density of the smoke.
It primarily connects directly to the roaster and can be used in conjunction with the cooling tray to eliminate smoke from one or both of these roasting areas dependent on the customers smoke reduction needs.
These are built and quoted as a customized piece of equipment since each customers needs are different and roaster size and roaster modifications can cause different problems to be addressed in production of equipment. For this reason there is no " in stock " on this item and it is necessary to quote and build the equipment to a customers requirements.
Based on the CARB (California Air Resource Board) anything under 110,000 BTU's is not required to have an afterburner unless there are complaints received about the smell and the smoke generated from your roaster. If you are having issues with smell the MAID System will not work for your needs since the smell can only be dissipated by incineration thereby requiring an afterburner.
This system requires a positive pressure piping just as your normal roasting system requires. This is an environmentally friendly alternative when you are not required to use an afterburner.
