Rampage Controls

Our Rampage controls are a step up from our Rebel touchscreen controller giving even more control of the roast to the operator. With Rampage you use either a MAC, PC, or smart screen to run the roaster. It is connected to a static IP address and allows you to use multiple platforms to control your roaster. The software works on Google.

There is a recipe screen that you can write a recipe up to 10 steps long changing drum speed, airflow, and gas percentage on each step if you think its important. A lot of people say controls take away the artistry of roasting coffee. We at Renegade feel we give you a full color pallet to come up with unique characteristics by changing variables and creating a truly unique roast only created by you and completely repeatable. When you think about it all people buy the same green coffees it’s up to the roast master to come up with something different to hold you apart from the rest of the coffee industry. We feel we give you that ability through our controls. Have you ever made the perfect roast and not been able to recreate it due to different weather conditions, not recording when you added or decreased your airflow? As long as you made a recipe your roast will be the same every time with no changes unless you make them.

We have included a trending tab that gives you the ability to look at every roast that you did and all the information that happened in the roaster during that particular roast in 1 second increments. If you’d rather look at a graph we have made that available as well. You decide from drop down windows what fields you want to see in a graph and from there apply the settings. You can save the CSV files to both excel and numbers.

Our main screen always keeps you informed of whats going on with the roaster. You see the drum speed in hertz and RPM, airflow in hertz and RPM, what percentage of burner you are using, what ramp rate you are using to achieve a chamber temperature from the last step. The program automatically marks your turn around from cold to warming and we give you a button to mark where you hear first crack in the roast. We do not in any way make decisions for the roaster on how you roast your coffee. We feel the only way that you will get coffee you enjoy is to make those decisions on variables yourself.

You have the ability to roast manually if you desire still using the drum speed and airflow changes. It will not record your roast as a profile will but you can roast manually if you see a need for it.

You also have the ability during a roast to change your current step environment temperature or bean temperature if you are transitioning to next step based on a bean temperature. Simply hit next step and get to the next step of your roast if you see a reason to move on to your next settings. Everyone has different critical set points they want to see in a specific time frame our software makes that totally possible by not limiting what you can use as triggers during your roast.
